I can't find my ad ?

The site is a lot bigger than it was a year ago, and ads that are on or renewed today won't necessarily appear on the first page of the site. The easiest way to find your ad is to type the place name in one of the 'Search for e.g' boxes below the writing at the top of the page. Make sure you are in the right section though: flat or house share, or flat or house rental.

Did you need to pay for your ad ? If you OWN the property you do need to pay £29.95 (very approximately 5% of your first month's rent,) and your ad will not appear until I've got this. Why the hell should I pay just because I own the property ?

Free ads: Moveflat is somewhat unusual in that it really does choose the ads it wishes to display on the site, and it doesn't choose evreything by any means. This can come as a surprise if you are posting here for the first time. Nearly all other London flatshare sites do accept all ads however, and you should certainly use all these if you find your ad isn't getting on here.Guide to getting on MoveFlat

If you can see your ad, but you aren't getting much response, then I've got some helpful tips about improving your MoveFlat profile How can I improve my ad ?

How do I Edit, Renew or Stop my ad please?

Please click on 'Edit my Ad' on any page. You need your PIN to get into your ad, using the e-mail address you posted the ad with. If you've lost or forgotten your PIN still click on 'Edit my Ad' and the server will prompt you about how to get a reminder e-mailed to you. If this doesn't work then either your e-mail address is or was wrong. If you are running a paid ad, I'll sort it for you: just ring as per above. If you're running a free ad on my site, post another ad, and the server will catch up with the situation in due course. your ad.

I've edited my ad but it doesn't seem to change ?

You need to click on 'Refresh' on your browser, when you view your ad, otherwise your browser will be too lazy to fetch the new ad. If this doesn't work, it means that another computer in your network is also being lazy, and it is not a fault with my server: eventually your computer will catch up.

I'm not getting the responses to my ad that I expected ?

How can I improve my ad ?

The bottom line to this is the London rental market. For every room that is posted on MoveFlat each day, there are 110 people on the site looking every day for a place to live. BUT London is awash with vacant rental property, and this is getting more so with the current economic situation.

It's important you take this on board. MoveFlat can't 'magic' people into wanting your flat or house and the site isn't acting as your 'agent.' The site's 'job' is getting people to the site. We do this quite well through reputation (mostly.) With the greatest of respect the final part of the task is up to you. If you do own the property you are living in, then you may then need to think about reducing the price. This may well be very unwelcome news to you.

If your ad specifies a minimum age of 30 and above, then you are immediately alienating 90% of your potential applicants, whether you advertise here or anywhere else. There are a substantial number of people over 30 looking on this site, but they are quite 'sought after.' and find accommodation quite quickly.

Other ads have a link to googlemap, but mine doesn't ?

It means you have to provide the full PostCode in your ad: If you just put 'E1' rather than 'E1 2AP' for instance, it can't posssibly know where you live.
